In addition to taking care of patients, we also enjoy taking care of our visitors! If you have questions, always feel free to ask a CMH team member.

Locating a Patient or Visitor:

To locate a patient or visitor, please call our front desk at (419) 542-6692. This telephone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To call a patient's room directly you may call the front desk at (419) 542-6692 and they will be happy to transfer your call. If you reach a recording, enter 5 followed by the patient's room number (example: 5103) and your call will be automatically transferred.

Visiting CMH:

Our hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are committed to ensuring the security of all of our patients. Team members at the front desk inside our main lobby are happy to help you locate a patient or a visitor.

The general visiting hours at CMH are unlimited; however, we ask you to keep the patient's best interest in mind. Family and friends can help speed recovery, but too many visitors or visitors who stay too long can have the opposite effect. Before visiting, you may want to call our front desk at (419) 542-6692 to determine if the patient you plan to visit has any restrictions for visiting hours.

We observe HUSH (Help Us Support Healing) hours daily from 2-4 PM and from 9 PM-7AM to allow our patients to rest. Visitors are still permitted during HUSH hours, but be aware that extra effort will be made during this time to keep sound and light to a minimum.

All children must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

People with colds, sore throats, or any contagious illness or disease should not visit patients.

Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.

Visitors must dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes.

Visits should be kept short to allow patients adequate rest.

Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests, treatments, or when the doctor, nurse, or other caregiver needs to see the patient.Welcome Center at Main Entrance

Arriving at CMH:

When arriving at CMH as a patient or visitor, please enter through the Main Entrance of the Hospital. Feel free to pull your car right up to the front door if needed to drop off a patient or visitor. If you need wheelchair assistance, let our front desk staff know and they will assist you. You can then park your car in the main lot.

Mail received after a patient's discharge will be forwarded to the patient's home.

Gifts for Patients:

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to a patient.

Gift Shop:

The Sunshine Gift Shoppe, operated by the CMH Auxiliary and staffed by volunteers, is located just inside the main entrance. Hours are Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and on evenings and weekends as coverage allows. The Gift Shoppe offers flowers, candy, gift items, baby items, collegiate gifts, jewelry, toiletries, greeting cards, and many other items.

Waiting Areas:OB/Surgery Waiting Area

There are several waiting areas for your convenience—the main waiting area just inside the front door, a waiting area next to the nurses' station in the patient wing, and the OB/Surgery waiting area located just outside the Surgery Department. Other waiting areas are located near each department. You are also welcome to have a seat in the Columbus Street Cafe.

Columbus Street Cafe:

The Columbus Street Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Soda and snack vending machines are also located in the Cafe. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available.

FREE Wi-Fi:

FREE wi-fi (wireless internet) connection is available throughout our hospital campus.
