What’s new?

 Community Memorial Hospital received delivery of its new high-field open MRI unit on Thursday, May 22, 2008. The unit was lowered into a prefabricated, steel shielded building that was assembled in Tennessee and delivered to Hicksville.

 The Philips Panorama 1.0T is the world’s first truly open high-field MRI with active shielding. It uses advanced open magnet technology rather than traditional cylindrical magnets. This high-field open MRI unit is the region’s strongest open magnet. Philips Panorama 1.0T offers advanced high-field performance to increase image quality and faster diagnosis for the clinician. In fact, the image quality of the new Philips Panorama 1.0T is comparable to that of a cylindrical 1.5T MRI. This totally open-view model offers superior patient comfort and access, particularly for children, elderly patients, clinically obese and those suffering from painful sports injuries.
