CMH Auxiliary
The purpose of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is to support the hospital and its patients through fund-raising activities and service projects that benefit the hospital and the communities it serves.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers assist throughout the hospital as well as working on the following Auxiliary projects:
- Lifeline—a personal emergency response system with over 120 subscribers in Antwerp, Edgerton, Hicksville, Sherwood, Harlan, Montpelier, Leo, and Spencerville
Call (419) 542-5676
- Bargain Box—This thrift shop in downtown Hicksville is the major fund-raising source for the Auxiliary, as well as providing a much-needed service to the community. Over 60 volunteers are responsible for the successful operation of this business.
- Sunshine Gift Shop—Located just inside the hospital's main entrance, the gift shop is open to the general public. In addition to gift items, the shop offers fresh flowers, balloons, Ohio State and Michigan items, jewelry, and holiday items. Hours of operation are 10 am - 7:00 pm weekdays and Sunday from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. The gift shop is operated solely by CMH volunteers.
- Special Projects—Throughout the year, Auxiliary volunteers also work on other special fund-raising and service activities, such as: Festival of trees, Christmas walk, cookie walk/bake sale, memory tree lighting, Christmas in the Village, and golf outings.
Membership in the Auxiliary is just $5.00 per year, with meetings held in late April or early May and October. Members are encouraged to become involved in as many Auxiliary activities, as time and interests permit.
